My name is John and i’m a technology and gaming enthusiast. I hope that this blog will serve as a useful resource for anyone who is looking to learn about these subjects. If you’re ever struggling with something and you need someone to teach you, please drop me a line.

I would like for this blog to be a place where people can open up and share their ideas and experiences with others, free of judgement or criticism. No matter how big or small your experience, you can post it here.

I’m no expert, but I want to share my knowledge with everyone who may like to learn something new or spark an interest in learning something different.

I’ve always been amazed by the advancements of technology and the ever evolving gaming world. There’s always something new to learn and i’m always looking for ways to improve.

I play games on the PC, the Nintendo Switch, the PS5 and Xbox – i’m an all rounder really! When playing games i usually play online with friends or strangers, or i play solo (although that isn’t as fun)

Currently interested areas:

  • Computer hardware (CPUs, motherboards etc.)
  • Gaming hardware (gaming headsets, controllers etc.)
  • Programming languages (JavaScript, C++ etc.)
  • Game design concepts (architecture of games, game design patterns etc.)
  • Programming theory (design patterns) – Learning algorithms like A*
  • Pathfinding & Genetic Algorithms. – Azure game services technologies like XNA 4.

My latest hobby is playing with virtual reality headsets, i’ve also been working on how they work and implementing my own code.

Background: I’ve studied computer science as a second degree at university. I’m currently working as a software developer with Toptal, working on projects for various clients.

My background in computer science is rooted in software development and i’m really interested in all aspects of the process, from the idea to the deployment. I’ve never worked as a programmer so i’d like to learn more about what it is like and how it works and hopefully one day, develop my own game!

In the meantime my blog is an open space where i can help you through common tech problems, share reviews on the latest gaming software and technology and even take a look at the latest toys, from model action figures to cars.

Anything with moving parts, i’m a fan of!
